Coffee
Ambassador - It's a Family Affair
As the third generation of
Curtises to work in the coffee business, it's safe to say that
Coffee Ambassador ceo Sean Curtis and his sister Barbara Curtis
Smalley, the company's vice president, were born to work in the
industry.
It all began right after World War II, when their grandfather
founded a coffee equipment business in Los Angeles. Then in 1969,
their father founded Coffee Ambassador in the family's Pacific
Beach garage.
Having grown up in the business and learning all the ins and
outs, Sean and Barbara bought the company from their mother in
1991 and set out to expand its offerings.
The family theme extends to the Coffee Ambassador staff, many
of whom have been with the company for years and are considered
to one of the family. Sean and Barbara even refer to their 2,500
business accounts as "our family of clients", so it's
likely that the familial theme will be associated with Coffee
Ambassador for a long, long time.
Growing with the Public's Taste
Never one to be satisified
with the status quo, Coffee Ambassador is
always looking for ways to expand its product line and enhance
the coffee experience for its 2,500+ business accounts.
As a distributor of Starbucks Coffee and the exclusive distributor
of The
FLAVIA System, Coffee Ambassador has been building up its beverage
line with the addition of flavored coffees and specialty teas
to provide a more appealing selection for the discriminating
beverage drinker.
Market research results in many of the new additions, while public
feedback also plays a big role in our decision whether or not
to add a
particular product. Coffee Ambassador encourages that feedback.
